French Door Curtain Rods – Equipped with small glass panes that make up most of the surface, French doors allow a lot of light to the interiors. To reduce light levels a bit or give your privacy, hang special French door curtain panels over the windows of the door windows. Fixed to a bar at the top and bottom, the curtains on the French doors remain still when the door is opened and closed.
Install the supports for the upper french door curtain rods above the glass panels. Position the brackets so that the bottom edge of the bracket plate is 2 to 3 inches above the top of the window glass. Place the brackets approximately 1 inch away diagonally from the outer corners of the window panes. Make sure that the supports on each side of the French door window are in the same place, relative to the window. This will ensure that the bar is installing uniformly and level from side to side. Install the lower bar in the same way.
Pilot holes, using the supports as a template. The holes should be about 1/4 inch deep and slightly smaller than the screws to hang the brackets. Place the brackets, insert the screws and the screw into the door with a manual screwdriver. Insert french door curtain rods in the pockets at the top and bottom of the curtain panels.
